It’s a season of high cheers in Osun State University, Ejigbo campus as the annual sporting festival, COALYMPICS kicked off few weeks back with the finalists, 500-level having the last draw from the straw to save their face on campus. New boys 100 level were hoping to make an impact in the 2nd edition of Coalympics to make history as first timers winning something in the game.
The second edition of Coalympics started with new games introduced in the sporting event, adding football for females and many more indoor games.
The just concluded football category was dominated by the 400-level as they seem very dominant, recording a competition without loss. The female team of 400-level was also repping but came shy of the 200-level who turned a better performance from their first appearance last year.
The female team of 200-level led by ever ready Sport Dir II, Margaret gave other competitors a run for the price, winning all their matches. The formidable team won the gold medal with 400-level coming close in Second position
The 500-level were not only finalist but saw the end to their reign and dominance in the campus, the level ended the competition with no silverware, the worst they’ve come out with in the competition.
200-level male football team came with more FIA, with standout name STEVEN winning medals for them in track and field and almost leading the male football team to glory.
300-level looked like the level with the good omen, rounding off the male football category as silver winners, winning golds in track and field. This is certainly their year.
Newcomers 100-level still trying to figure out what it is they are into couldn’t work out any miracle to save their skin as they were always coming short in every category. Their patient dog hopefully will eat the fattest bone with promising performances from the lad.
It’s a wrap in the second edition of the most anticipated sporting competition in the campus, COALYMPICS, congratulation to every medalist.
