Nowadays, Korean dramas are getting a larger viewing audience, and I am definitely one of them. The last time I watched a K-drama, was those days that buying CD was a popular thing, and I was a bit reluctant to go back to watching K-dramas. But when I ran out of American series to watch, I just had to give in and watch it.
It just started with one drama, and I found myself searching for more dramas to watch, and then I stumbled upon Fiery Priest.
Fiery Priest is a very interesting K-drama, as it would be very rare for you to find comedy, crime and action all packed in one. The series just has a total of 20 episodes, and it was released in 2019, and it was the highest rated miniseries drama that aired in 2019.
The drama just talks about the death of an elderly priest, and an ex NIS agent turned priest attempts to bring the culprits involved in the killing of his mentor before law. He tries to do things without violence being a priest and all but he noticed that the people he was up against didn’t respect that as well, so he had to fall back on his tactics as a former special force agent who is still haunted by the demons of his past.
I actually like the fact that such a serious story was portrayed with full sense of humor, this eased the storyline and made it one enjoyable to watch.
I know you might be wondering why we review a lot of K-Dramas, well it is because they are easy to watch and finish up in one season. Complications do not arise in the stories although we experience plot twists every now and then.
The Fiery Priest should get a 6.5/10 for comic relief and good storyline, it is a really interesting series that will keep you laughing till the end.
