Movies are not the only things to look out for in this 2020 as new TV series are coming out this year, from tv shows that we are awaiting new episodes to entirely new TV series. I personally cannot wait for some of my favourite shows to release new episodes and for those who have not started watching some of these anticipated TV shows, now is your chance to do so.
1. POWER.
It’s first airing was on the 7th of June 2014 and the 9th of February 2020 happens to be it’s last, as the series is said to officially come to an end on that date. For those of you who have already reached Season 6, sadly that is going to be its last Season. With Courtney A. Kemps and Curtis Jackson as the directors, the TV show came to a close last year on the 3rd of November 2019 with the release of Episode 10. And this episode happened to leave everyone speechless and shocked as they all had one question in mind… who shot Ghost?? And for people like me who haven’t gotten to Season 6 yet, I am sad to tell you that yes, Ghost was shot and you would be surprised to find out about the death of some of your favourite characters.
Power is out this year with the remaining episodes to complete the Season 6. With the casts, Omari Hardwick as James st. Patrick aka Ghost, Joseph Sikora as Tommy, Naturi Naughton as Targa and many more, you’d be sure to know that this series would keep you on your toes.
2. SEX EDUCATION.
This TV show already gained the buzz in the beginning of the year by releasing the second season of the show. Ever since it’s release on the 11th of January 2019, people have been anticipating the release of the second Season and it was finally released on the 17th of January this year, and they sure did not disappoint, with a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.3/10 on imdb.
Sadly each season is just made up of 8 episodes and for people like me who finished the whole season in two days, we have to wait for the release of another season which is likely not to be anytime soon. This Netflix owned TV show was composed by Oli Julian, with casts such as Asa Butterfield who played Otis, Gillian Anderson as Otis’ mother and a sex therapist, Ncuti Gatawa as Effiong, Emma Mackey as Maeve, Kedar Williams Stirling as Jackson, Connor Swindells as Adam and many more.
3. GROWN.ISH.
This happens to be a spin-off of black.ish. The series first aired on the 3th of January 2018. Created by Kenya Baries, the show is back this year with its third season which was released on the 16th of January this year and a lot has sure been happening, but I won’t spoil anything for you guys especially those who haven’t started watching this series. With the presence of actors such as Luka Sabbat, Yara Shahidi, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Francia Raisa, Trevor Jackson, just to mention a few.
4. THE POPE.
After about 4 years since the release of a series called The Young Pope, HBO are back with the release of what happens to be the second season of The Young Pope, which they now call The New Pope. This TV series was created by Paolo Sorrentino and was released on the 10th of January 2020, with actors such as, Jude Law, John Malkovich, Silvio Orlando, Cécile de France and many more, this new series promises to be interesting.
5. MONEY HEIST.
I don’t want to say that I saved the best for the last, but I did. If you have not started watching money heist at all, what are you waiting for?? Since it’s release on the 2nd of May 2017, this series has been causing waves all over as you can not anticipate the next trick the professor has up his sleeve. This series created by Álex Pina would keep you on your feet and now Netflix is airing the series ever since 2019.
The last episode of Season 3 will definitely leave you guessing what will happen next, people have been formulating so many theories since it’s last season and we can only await the next season which is said to be coming out in April 2020. Starring Ůrsula Corbero, Itziar Ituño, Alvaro Morte, Paco Tous, Pedro Alonso and many more, this series will sure leave you on your toes.
