After getting into a furious dispute with one of his tenants in Aribabu village, Sotubo, Ogun State, the landlord, Apeh Benjamin, fell and passed away.
The incident happened at about 6:30 am on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
The State Police Command spokesperson, SP Omolala Odutola, confirmed the event in a statement on Monday, June 3, 2024, stating that the tenant’s overdue rent was the cause of the argument.
The PPRO stated that during the fight, the renter, who went by the name Emmanuel, had threatened to kill the landlord.
“A landlord named Apeh Benjamin of Aribabu village, Sotubo Ogun State, slumped and died at approximately 06:30 on June 2nd, over a heated argument with one of his tenants, named Emmanuel, who threatened to kill his landlord over unpaid rent,” according to Odutola.
