A decade is a period of years and we have been blessed to witness the awesomess in football in the past 10 years. This article will be focusing on the players who have been more effective between the period of 2009-2019 in the English Premier League. These players might not play all through the period in the english Premier League but during this period, they had the most effect.
The team consisting of 15 players and two goalkeepers is managed by Sir Alex Ferguson who is no doubt the greatest manager in the hisory of premier league.
GoalKeepers
David De Gea: It was a very big shoe for him to fit in the early stages of his career in the premier league after moving from athletico madrid to manchester united to replace the legendary Edwin Van der Sar. Struggling in his first years, David picked up so well in following years by forcing his way into the Team of the year in a record of 5 times in this decade.
Peter Cech: A lot might have forgotten how good his early years were after he joined Arsenal in what seem to be a dirt in his previous outstanding form. Petr had a join 16 clean sheet with Sczcesny in the 2013/2014 season, this gained him a place in the team of the year for that season.
Defenders
Kylie Walker: Winning the PFA young player of the season in 2011, Kylie put on an outstanding performance with Tottenham which helped him to a big money move to Manchester city, making him the highest transferred full back at that time.
Nemanja Vidic: Serbian mafia. The defender won the player of the season in 2009 ahead of players like Cristiano ROnaldo and Ryan Giggs. His involvement in the Manchester United can never be forgotten.
John Terry: Highest scoring defender. The champions league night might be a bad one for him to remember but he has been a wall in the defence for Chelsea from the days of Jose Mourinho. Named as Europe’s best defenders in different occassions and also PFA team of the year.
Cesar Azpilicueta: He is one of the most underrated defenders in the premier league. He has played i n different positions for Chelsea and he was at his best when called up.
Vincent Kompany: leaving the Machester city side in a grand style, Kompany’s influence as a rock at defence and as their captain cannot be overemphasized.
Midefield
David Silva: He was part of the big revolution that happened in Manchester city. After making the move from Spain to big money spenders, Manchester city, the midfield maestro put in a series of display with his passing and vision the highlight of his talent.
Yaya Toure: after making the move from Spanish giant, Barcelona, Yaya Toure like his fellow City man on the list, David Silva, made the big revolution in Manchester City happen.
Eden Hazard: PFA young player of the year in 2014, PFA player of the year in 2015. Moving from France has been the biggest lift in Hazard’s career. Joining chelsea after an outstanding season in France proved all pundits wrong that he was more than just a one season wonder.
Frank Lampard: I know you hate to see this but I couldn’t overlook the only midfielder in the all time top 10 highest goal scorer chart in EPL. Frank Lampard has proven to be a reliable midfield piston to fire whenever you need goals. He spent most of his footballing career in Chelsea.
Forward
Sergio Aguero: Undoubtedly the best striker in this decade. With an overall of 173 goals in English Premier League and leading the all time goal scoring chart in Manchester city, Sergio Aguero has proven to be the reliable goal scoring machine. Aguero has scored 20 goals for 5 consecutive seasons. He’s behind Theirry Henry on EPL all time goal scorers.
