One movie that many anticipated its release was the sequel of the hit movie, VENOM.
Many were definitely excited to see how the sequel would pan out, as the first installment was definitely worth watching.
Well, we hardly see sequels perform better than the first installment, as most times, the first installments end up being better than its sequel, and VENOM was not an exception.
I checked the ratings and I saw that even though many loved it, it didn’t get high ratings, but I watched it either way because I knew that even if it wasn’t going to be mind-blowing, it was at least going to be enjoyable to watch.
And I was not disappointed, many already understood the concept of VENOM and Eddie Brock, but what the producers did with this was to emphasise more on their relationship, which was why we saw how they coped after their adventures in the first installment.
Asides from projecting the relationship between VENOM and Eddie Brock, the movie talks about serial killer Cletus Kasady and his long lost love played by Naomi Harris who has the ability of sound manipulation.
Cletus escapes from prison after becoming the host of Carnage a chaotic spawn of VENOM. Cletus, Carnage and his love are busy wrecking havoc and are bent on killing Edde Brock, VENOM and the police officer. But in the end, Cletus, Carnage and his love are defeated by Eddie Brock and VENOM.
But close to the end, we can see a cliffhanger, which leaves the viewers wondering if there would be a third installment or not.
I do not really have a problem when it comes to whether the sequel was better than the first installment, as the important thing is that it was enjoyable to watch. But where I just felt that the movie was lacking, was the little amount of action we got.
By the time we saw Carnage and we got the show off between Carnage and VENOM, the movie was already more than half way through. We only got to enjoy a few minutes of the action. Enjoyable regardless, but short.
Overall, the movie is one of the best I have watched this year, as the movie would keep you hooked till the very end and it would also leave you laughing at the interactions between VENOM and Eddie Brock.
The movie lives up to the hype as it ranked the 7th highest-grossing film of 2021 having grossed $498 million.
