Liverpool star Mohamed Salah brought the curtain down on a fine 2017 as his double sealed a comeback win over Leicester on Saturday.
The Reds fell behind to an early Jamie Vardy goal and couldn’t find a way past their visitors in the opening period despite a dominant display.
But Salah scored twice in the second half to move within one goal of the Premier League’s leading scorer Harry Kane.
The Egypt international danced past two challenges and powered the ball through Kasper Schmeichel’s legs to restore parity moments after the restart.
And little more than 20 minutes later it was Salah again who received James Milner’s backheel before running clear to sweep the ball past Schmeichel and seal a crucial three points with his 17th goal of the season.
The win means Jurgen Klopp’s men end the year inside the Premier League’s top four.
