Last year was a year filled with struggles as the world had to go on lockdown because of the pandemic that hit the world. And as such a lot of things had to be put on hold, as the lock down affected schools, businesses, sports and even the movie industry as well. And as such, movies that were meant to have been released last year had to be rescheduled to this year.And here are some of the movies that would be released in May;
1. Free Guy; I saw the trailer of this movie on Ryan Reynolds YouTube channel and the trailer had me laughing through most of it. Free guy is an upcoming American Sci-Fi action comedy movie, directed by Shawn Levy. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Jolie Comer, Joe Kerry, Lil Rey Howery, Utkarsh Ambudka and Taika Waititi. The movie release was pushed back twice from a July 2020 release date all due to COVID.The movie talks about an open world video game, where in a town called Free City, there is a non-player character, Guy, who works as a bank teller.
Due to the game publisher, Antoine, inserting a program developed by programmers, Milly and Keys, into Free City, Guy becomes aware of his world being a video game and then he takes steps to make himself become a hero, creating a race against time to save the game before the developers can shut it down.
2. Quiet Place II; is an American horror film, which is a sequel to the first installment, A Quiet Place (which was released in 2018). The film was written and directed by John Krasinski, and it stars, Emily Blunt, Milicent Simmons and Noah Jupe who all starred in the first movie, with additions from Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
Development of a sequel first started in April 2018 after the success of the first film, then production began in June 2019 and the movie was scheduled to be released on the 8th of March 2020, but due to the pandemic it was moved to the 28th of May 2021.The movie centers on the Abbot family who must now face the terrors of the outside world, following the deadly events at home. They continue their fight for survival in silence, but they soon realise that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.Other movies to be released in May are; Black Widow, DOG, The Woman In The Window, Army Of The Dead, Those Who Wished Me Dead, Spiral, Cruella, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.
