Manchester United produced an outstanding display to defeat Liverpool and give manager Erik ten Hag his first Premier League victory.
Ten Hag took a bold decision of dropping captain Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo and the players responded excellently well to grab their first win of the season in front of home fans at Old Trafford.
Jadon Sancho showed superb control and composure to put Man United in front after 16 minutes, and have a deservedly lead at half time. Marcus Rashford was clear on goal after a lovely through pass from substitute Anthony Martial eight minutes after the interval to double United’s lead.
Things were starting to look like a dead end for Jurgen Klopp’s side before a consolation goal from Mo Salah coming from a scrambled header off a Carvalho’s rebounce shot.
With nine minutes left in the game, United stood strong and survived to give Ten Hag his first win as a Manchester United’s coach.
