Gunmen have caused quite a stir in a a Lagos community after storming the area to whisk a council clerk to the unknown. According to a The Nation report, some gunmen on Wednesday morning kidnapped the Ikeja Local Government Clerk, Shamsideen Abiodun Omotayo. Omotayo was whisked away at Imota, Ikorodu, while on his way to work, spokesman for the local council secretariat, Bello Onilegbale said.
According to him, Omotayo’s kidnappers have contacted the council’s Head of Administration, Mrs. Mosunmola Otaiku-Okoka. He said they demanded N20 million ransom. Confirming the incident, the spokesman of Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), Afolabi Olawale, said efforts to rescue Omotayo were ongoing.
