Chelsea fell to a second away defeat in a row as they were beaten 2-1 by Southampton despite taking early the lead.
Raheem Sterling was once again on the scoresheet as the Blues made a positive start through a clean strike from the former Machester City player, but this wasn’t enough to see Chelsea through the finish line.
Romeo Lavia produced a wonderful finish from the edge of the box to equalise with his first goal for the club before Adam Armstrong sent the Saints into the break ahead as he fired in from close range in first-half added-time.
There were no threats or response from Chelsea, with Southampton dominating the second half and close to increasing their lead but they were twice denied by some last-ditch defending from the Blues.
