Wizkid has set a new record as he becomes the first African artist in history to have their album certified gold with his ‘Made In Lagos’ album.
Made In Lagos has proven to be His best selling project ever, with breakout song like Essence featuring Canadian singer, Justin Bieber on the remix.
Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album has been certified gold in the US by the RIAA and he is the first African artist to receive this honour. The album, which was released on the 29th of October 2020, was certified gold by the RIAA on the 25th of August 2022 after selling over 500,000 units in the US.
Couple of African songs have been certified gold by RIAA but this is the first album to reach the milestone.
