The third round for the Carabao Cup gets underway, with the second night having an exclusive fixture of Manchester City hosting Chelsea.
Other fixtures in the round has Arsenal hosting Brighton, Newcastle hosting Crystal Palace and Blackburn traveling to West Ham for an outing for the Londoners.
Things started bright for Arsenal with Eddie Nketiah putting them ahead in the game, but Brighton came from behind to grab a winner and end with a comfortable 3-1 win over the Gunners.
Newcastle and Crystal palace played goalless draw in normal time, and went on to the penalties with extra time not been an option in the Carabao cup. Newcastle won the tie and advanced to the next round after winning on penalties.
It was the same for West Ham at the London stadium after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Blackburn Rovers. The away team proceed to win the tie on penalties,
Chelsea also suffered a 2-0 win at Etihad with goals coming from a Mahrez freekick and a rebound by Julain Alvarez. Manchester City goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega put in a Man of the Match performance to deny teenager, Lewis Hall twice.
Nottingham Forest also grabbed a 2-0 home win against North London side, Tottenham Hotspur.
