First of all Tell us your name, And few things about yourself
My name is Mosaku Lateefat simisola.
I’m a 19 year old microbiology student of Babcock university. I love listening to music and dancing. I really like been around my friends and I love plantain.
As one of the organizers of Colour a child, what brought the need of this event Tell us the concept about it?
What about the need was that we planned on having an outreach to an underdeveloped public school in Lagos. And while planning we figured out that our budget would be needing sponsors, donors and volunteers. And due to this we needed a platform where we would raise funds and also make people aware of our charity organisation. So we can get funds, sponsors and even volunteers which some people have started filling our form and are already registered volunteers.
The concept of the fundraiser is to get what we want by giving people what they need. Of recent times, people wouldn’t want to donate money or their things to just some random organisation. So we decided to have fundraiser where people will come in with materials needed by the kids and when they are in the fundraiser enjoy various things and pay little amount of money to raise funds little by little.
In terms of outreaching underdeveloped public schools, do you mean your organization is going to cater for their needs or it’s just to enlighten them about few things which they lack What kind of support are you giving?
We would be catering for the things they need. For instance we plan on buying the kids new school sandals, bags and water bottles. Give them the writing materials gotten from the gate pass. If the structure of the school needs to be enhance. We also plan on re-painting the building and providing a playground or a good football field for them and we would also be educating them on some societal topics like drug abuse and it’s effects.
Alright the main idea is to give and take?
Yes give them what they want so we get what we need
I like the idea that’s good It’s something the society would like to see. Apart from you who are the other organizers like the foundation men?
Yeah, Thank you. I’m the organizer but I have friends that help out when I need advice or help and there are volunteers that would be helping out at the fundraiser.

Is this a first time event or you’ve been carrying this project right from time?
This is our second event. The first one was to little saints orphanage in akowonjo. We had their kids from other branches come and we had a summer party for them with gifts, food, drinks, art , crafts and games.
