I believe most people have watched Power, and even those that have not watched it, have at least heard of it. Power is back with a sequel, Power Book II. I was one of the people who believed a sequel wasn’t necessary, I mean the storyline was already fantastic in season one. Well I was left she’ll shocked by the organization, presentation and direction of the sequel.
The Power Book II, talks about the story of Tariq St Patrick, the son of Ghost, and we all remember the fact that Tariq killed Ghost at the ending of book one, most of us were definitely surprised at the end of the book one, because definitely no one would have thought that Tariq would be the one to end Ghost, and it was Tacha, his mom that took the fall for it.
In Book II, we see Tariq is hustling in school, trying to pay for his mother’s defense attorney and just when he runs out of options to raise the money for her, he decides to follow his father’s footsteps and he takes up the familiar drug game.
He starts selling drugs on campus as he believes that there will be a larger market on campus as all most of them know how to do is throw parties and have fun.
The characters in the Book II, are mostly different from the ones in Book I, but the Tacha and Tariq character still remains the same, and Mary J Blige also appears in this one.
Although it is just 5 episodes released into the series, the series so far looks promising. I hope the storyline remains as intriguing as the beginning of the sequel. I rate this a 7.5/10.
