The Avengers have assembled, saved the world a few times, and most recently battled their most destructive foe, Thanos, so it’s no surprise that Avengers: Infinity War has become the biggest superhero movie of all time after just 18 days at cinemas. That’s less than three weeks.
The film has taken an estimated total box office of £60 million in the UK after its third weekend of release, overtaking previous number one The Dark Knight Rises which made a total of £56.3 million at the UK box office in its entire run.
Released on 26 April, Infinity War has now broken all superhero records, earning $1billion – £783million to be exact – quicker than any other movie in history.
The film, which sees Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and Black Panther all get together in one place, crossed the billion dollar line just 11 days after being released. The Marvel flick has also reportedly made more than DC’s Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman and Justice League combined. Combined!
