Super Eagles of Nigeria’s head coach, Jose Peseiro, has addressed the injury of Stanley Nwabali and the rumours ahead of the must-win AFCON quarter-finals fixture against Angola.
There have been rumours and speculations on the match fitness level of Stanely Nwabali who was substituted off due to injury in Nigeria’s round of 16 fixture against Cameroon at AFCON 2023.
Peseiro revealed that Nwabali had indeed trained with the team but the possibility of him starting lies on the final fitness test which will be done by the medical team later today, Thursday, February 1, 2024.
He also confirmed that if Stanley Nwabali is not fit enough to play the game he will consider other options in Uzoho who came on in the final minutes of the round of 16 fixture against Cameroon.
