An unidentified stuntwoman died on the set of Deadpool 2 in Vancouver, Canada on Monday after her motorcycle crashed during filming, local authorities confirmed.
“Vancouver Police can confirm that a female stunt driver has died on the set of Deadpool during a stunt on a motorcycle,” the department said in a statement, following an initial announcement on social media. “VPD officers are at the scene, along with officers from WorkSafeBC. More information will be released when it is available.” Deadpool 2, directed by Atomic Blonde‘s David Leitch, returns Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth. Josh Brolin will also debut as the time-traveling mutant Cable alongside Beetz as Domino, The Hunt for the Wilderpeople‘s Julian Dennison, and Jack Kesy as the reported villain.
The film is scheduled for release on June 1, 2018.
