The Too Good At Goodbyes lyrics guru has been slammed by fans who claim he is faking his new romance with Brandon Flynn in order to shift copies of his new album.
Sam, who is currently sitting atop of the UK charts, was snapped packing on the PDA with the 13 Reasons Why actor while in New York.
The sneaky snapper appeared perfectly placed to capture a string of images as the duo locked-lips in the street.
Rushing to Twitter to hit out one suspicious fan wrote: “Convenient Sam Smith gets a new boyfriend when his new music is coming out. Can anyone say publicity stunt? lol.” “Sam Smith King of being in a fake relationship to get publicity and promote his new song,” another hit out.
A third continued: “I ain’t bashing or hating the ‘Sam Smith and Brandon Flynn’ thing but it’s obviously a publicity stunt.”
Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: “Sam Smith and Brandon Flynn are dating!!! Wether it’s a publicity stunt or not I love this. [sic]” A rep for Sam Smith has been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.
The singer is no stranger to a public fling.
Sam Smith’s dating history includes: Britain’s Got Talent’s Calum Scott, model and E4 star Jay Camilleri, dancer Jonathon Ziezel and TOWIE’s Charlie King.
Real or not, there is no denying Sam longs for a happy romance.
His first album focused on his heartbreak while his latest single also covers his unlucky dating history. A source previously told Daily Star Online: “Sam is open to a relationship and has been chatting to other people since last year.
“Due to the fact he has been on an extended break he’s had loads of time to away from work to focus on his personal life.
“He’s publicly said his next album will ‘go even deeper’ so no doubt fans will find out more then.” While Sam’s revelation of a new man has been met with a mixed response, it’s good to see Sam conformable in his own skin.
