Reports all the way from South Africa, says that a correctional service official in Losperfontein prison in Brits has committed suicide, after her relationship with an inmate was exposed.
The department said it had been made aware of the images circulating on social media.
Her name has not been released yet.
The department’s regional commissioner for Limpopo‚ Mpumalanga and North West‚ Mandla Mkabela‚ expressed sadness at the incident.
“We have dispatched a team of senior managers and our employee assistance programme specialists to provide necessary support‚” Mkabela said.
