Eleven suspected members of different gangs that specialised in robbing passengers in their fake commercial buses, popularly called One Chance, have been arrested in different parts of Lagos by the Police.
Recovered from the suspects were over 50 Automated Teller Machine, ATM, cards, suspected to have been stolen from their victims.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects made withdrawals with their victims’ ATM cards, while they transferred close to N1 million from victims’ accounts to their accomplices’ bank accounts.
One of the gangs, made up of eight members, according to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, dispossessed one Mr. Fred Ubak of his valuables. They were said to have transferred N820,000 into five other banks, from where the amount was withdrawn.
