Good Morning Britain ‘s Laura Tobin has given birth to a “beautiful” baby girl. Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid announced the arrival of the weather woman’s baby on this morning’s show – and she’s been named after a GMB presenter. Baby Charlotte, who is being well looked after in hospital after being born prematurely, shares the name of Laura’s colleague Charlotte Hawkins.
Laura and husband Dean’s bundle of joy has dark hair like her mummy and both are happy and healthy. Revealing the news, Piers said: “We are starting with some very happy news today. You may have noticed that Laura, our weather goddess, hasn’t been around this summer. We are really pleased to finally announce she has given birth to a little baby girl.”
Susanna said: “A huge congratulations and she’s called her baby Charlotte. Cheeky Piers said: “It was either going to be Susanna or Charlotte and she’s gone the right way I think. Or god forbid Sean.” Susanna said: “Thank goodness she didn’t cause the baby Piers – that would have been a little odd.” Revealing that Laura gave birth prematurely, Susanna said: “Little Charlotte came a little earlier than planned and she is being very well looked after in hospital. Laura and her husband dean. They are with her every day and she is growing in size and strength. Laura describes her baby as beautiful and of course she is, and she has dark hair like her mummy.”
Piers added: “All our very best to Laura, Dean and little Charlotte. And we really mean that Its been a tricky few months for them and we are delighted things seem to be going really well.” The weather woman took GMB hosts Susanna and Piers by surprise when she revealed she was pregnant a few months ago after giving her forecast live on air.

“I literally can’t believe it’s May so I thought I’d do a little forecast looking ahead at what is coming up. Now as we head through the summer months it’s looking likely to be drier and warmer than average, and as we head into September things will be blooming,” she started.
“But it won’t just be my dress, because I’m very pleased to let everyone know that come the end of October, I’ll be having my own little ray of sunshine. I’m having a baby!” But she admitted she hadn’t even told her family before announcing it to the nation, other than her parents and in-laws and her boss.
“So your family are watching this and they’ve just found out you’re expecting?” asked Piers. “Aww, that’s lovely news.” Susanna got teary-eyed and even Piers melted with the happy announcement – before trying to insist that Susanna was also feeling broody. “I’ve got a little tear in my eye, Laura,” Susanna said. “Love a baby.”
“Are you alright? Not too late to have a few more,” said Piers. “No!” Susanna shot back. “I don’t want a baby for me, I’m thrilled for Laura.” Laura later took to Twitter to share pictures of her tiny bump encased in a pretty floral pink and black dress. She even turned the Twitter announcement into a forecast, tweeting: “Happy to say the long range forecast is blooming & that’s not just the weather.
“I forecast a ray of sunshine by the end of October #baby,” she added.
