They are currently enjoying a delayed honeymoon after their May nuptials. And after keeping details of their big day relatively under wraps, Tom Daley and his husband Dustin Lance Black have shared personal footage from their wedding on YouTube.
Speaking over the video from their fairy tale ceremony, which was held at Bovey Castle, near Plymouth, the couple each pour their hearts out, with Tom revealing that he fell in love with the screenwriter just minutes after meeting him. Lance begins: ‘When Tom and I met four years ago, I knew instantly that I was in trouble. ‘I knew I’d met my match. I’d met someone who could inspire me, someone who I could admire but also somebody who would naturally be my best friend.’
He then enthused: ‘It didn’t hurt that he was incredibly cute and charismatic and didn’t let me get away with a thing.’ The heartfelt monologue dubs over a heartfelt scene which sees the couple share a kiss while walking around the grounds of their lavish venue. The footage then cuts to the moment just before the pair exchanged their vows, with both Tom and Lance getting ready alongside their families.
Tom gushes: ‘Within the first few minutes of conversation with Lance, things suddenly and massively changed for me. I fell in love. Every single part of him, the way he thinks, the way he acts and everything that he does just makes me fall in love with him every single day more and more.’ Reciprocating his kind words, Lance continued: ‘It just seems that he and I have been able to overcome every single challenge of distance and time apart and it just brings us closer and closer together. ‘
The emotional clip then closes with the couple’s breathtaking firework display, with Tom praising his husband once again.
He swoons: ‘Lance is one of the most complicated creatures on the planet but that is why I love him.
‘He’s sensitive, courageous, committed, dedicated, hard working and above all he makes me feel safe. When I’m with him I feel like I can take on the world.’
While Tom and Lance are famed for keeping their relationship out of the spotlight, they have chosen to share their video with the promise that any revenue made from it will be donated to the LGBT+ Switchboard and It Gets Better
