[MUSIC] Shimon – Her

Posted on September 26, 2017 By Michest No Comments on [MUSIC] Shimon – Her

“HER” is Shimon’s latest single , which takes inspiration from the afrobeat hit “Yahooze” by Nigerias very own Olu Maintain. Shimon samples this hit and adds his gentle vocals over a rollicking beat creating his own unique twist

“ HER is a track that blends the excitement of money and loyalty. The use of the “Yahooze” sample is to create a nostalgic and dramatic element very different from the main focus of the track but still musically pleasing*

Shimon is an upcoming independent artist born in Lagos, Nigeria where he spent most of his life before moving to the UK. His songs tell stories of love lost and love found in a way that the listener finds both humorous and heart breaking. Shimon recently won the Pomerance Prize for Music at the University of Leicester for contributions to music within the university whilst coming second place at the University Gospel Choir of the Year with Leicester University Voices.
