She teased a new transformation to come on her Instagram page earlier this week. And Katie Price appeared to reveal the surprise on Wednesday afternoon, unveiling a brand new bubblegum pink ‘do as she left the ITV studios. The 38-year-old showed off the bold hair colour just hours after she appeared on Loose Women while sporting brunette locks. The former glamour model had teased fans about a big change to come, sharing on Instagram a post which read: ‘I feel another transformation coming’. Set against a shocking pink background, the post from Monday appeared to hint at her new hair colour.
Katie debuted the striking look as she left the ITV studios with husband Kieran Hayler, who appeared to be fully behind the transformation. Ensuring that she complemented her new hair colour, she opted for a pink sweatshirt and matching tracksuit bottoms as she stepped out with the new ‘do. Opting for a comfy look, she finished off the casual ensemble with a white fur gilet and a pair of fluffy slippers on her feet.
Sporting a pair of large tortoise shell shades, she even tied in her make-up with her new locks, accentuating her lips with a shimmering pink gloss. Katie – who is more typically associated with her blonde hair – was seen rocking a brunette ‘do as she spoke candidly on Wednesday’s episode of Loose Women.
However, her glossy chestnut mane appeared to be a wig, as she was spotted arriving earlier in the day with her blonde locks scraped up into a top knot. Speaking on the show, Katie revealed she struggled to enjoy her lavish £1million wedding with ex Peter Andre – because the event had become a ‘showcase’ for guests and fans. The TV personalities famously said ‘I do’ during an extravagant affair at Hampshire’s Highclere Castle – the setting for hit drama Downton Abbey – in September 2005. However, during her appearance on Wednesday’s installment of Loose Women, Katie admitted that the occasion had huge drawbacks, saying: ‘I didn’t enjoy the day. We did it for a magazine shoot.’ Going into detail about just how over-the-top the celebration was, she said: ‘I remember people were going around with buckets of Swarovski [crystals]. ‘We had special lighting, pink carpet. It was ridiculous. I didn’t see it all, then you have to do photos for the magazine.’
Speaking with fellow panellists Janet Street-Porter, Stacey Solomon and Ruth Langsford, she continued: ‘I didn’t enjoy the wedding. I enjoyed getting married to him – but not the day.’ Following Katie and Peter’s 2009 divorce, the glamour model moved on to a brief marriage to Alex Reid, before tying the knot with current husband Kieran Hayler in January 2013. Of her numerous trips down the aisle, she quipped: ‘I’ve had a few more weddings since [Peter].’
Katie also revealed that she’s learned to do things on a more modest budget, as she said of her Bahamas ceremony with Kieran: ‘The last one was only about 10 grand. ‘We did it in the evening. Instead of having afternoon guests and evening guests, we invited everyone to watch us, then went straight into a hog roast.’ She added: ‘Being experienced at weddings, I feel that everything is about you, but you end up making it a showcase for other people instead.’ Katie’s admission comes a month after it was reported that Peter was furious with her for claiming their children Junior, 11, and Princess, nine, love that they divorced and can’t remember the split.
The star, formerly known as Jordan, drew on her own experience as a child when her parents broke up saying their offspring also can’t remember the divorce when speaking on Loose Women. An insider told subsequently told new! magazine: ‘Pete thinks it’s totally ridiculous. He can’t understand how she could say that. Of course the kids remember their split? What child wouldn’t?’
‘Pete was actually quite glad she admitted that because them getting back together is one thing that would never happen.’
At the time of their 2009 break-up, their youngest Princess was only around 18 months, while Junior was three years old.
Katie previously told the show: ‘I want a happy home, not an unhappy home. It’s tricky…when would you split up?. ‘I don’t remember my parents splitting up… Princess was one and a half, and Junior was three, they don’t even remember it.
‘But when you get to seven or six upwards through teenage, I think it does hit kids more… They know what’s going on, they’re smart.’
Katie has said that Princess and Junior ‘loved that both their parents had found love again.
Last year, Katie risked opening up old wounds when she talked about what went wrong during her marriage to her first husband on the show.
Appearing on Loose Women once again, she said: ‘It killed me because I had to agree to only have my children for half the time as we shared childcare. ‘Princess was only one and a half at the time and Junior was three and I will never forgive that situation. I didn’t want to divorce him. I wanted to be with him. We’ve never spoken about it because certain people got involved.’
When co-host Gloria Hunniford enquired why not, Katie responded: ‘Certain people wouldn’t allow it.’
Speaking openly about her feelings, Katie admitted: ‘I still want the ideal life. I want to be married, I want the kids, I want them to love me.
‘Talking further about her relationship with Pete, she said: ‘We’ve never sat down with the kids together or even together to talk things through. ‘We would be together now. But it doesn’t matter now. The kids love Kieran and Emily and they get love from both of us.’
The blonde beauty also married Alex Reid in 2010 and current husband Kieran Hayler in 2013. Peter is now married to Emily MacDonagh, with whom he has two children.
In February 2016, Katie also admitted on Loose Women that her nuptials with Peter were ‘kind of a blur’ as she was suffering from postnatal depression, after giving birth to their son Junior just three months earlier.
She told the panel: ‘I’ve been married three times and they’ve all been different kind of marriages. One was abroad, one was in Vegas, and then with Pete it was where Downton Abbey was filmed, Highclere. ‘So we got married there but I had really bad postnatal depression and not anyone knew that there so it’s sort of, kind of, a blur and I wasn’t on antidepressants. ‘So I remember bits of the wedding but it’s I wish, no I don’t wish I could go back and do it all over again, but you know, it was such an amazing wedding. You know, everything about the fairytale that I wanted, but I had postnatal depression.’ The former glamour model is mother to son Harvey, 13, from her relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke. She shares Junior and Princess with Peter Andre and she and Kieran also have son Jett, three, and 19-month-old daughter Bunny together.
