Nigeria Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered a probe into the rape allegations against Nigerian music superstar, D’Banj by a lady identified as Seyitan Babatayo.
This was revealed in a letter addressed to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Area 10, Garki, Abuja.signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the IG, DCP Idowu Owohunwa.
The letter was actually a response to a petition by Mr. Tommy Ojoge-Daniel, the lawyer to Miss Seyitan Babatayo.
The letter was titled;
‘Re: Petition Against (1) Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (Aka D’Banj) for Rape Indecent Sexual Assault, Attempted Assault on Miss Seyitan Temidayo and part of the letter reads;
“I forward herewith a copy of a letter dated June 5, 2020, received from Ojoge, Omileye, and Partners on the above-underlined subject. I am to respectfully convey the directive of the Inspector-General of Police that you treat.
Accept the assurances of my esteemed regards please.”
After the rape allegation was leveled against him, D’Banj came out to deny it and subsequently slapped the lady with a N100 million lawsuit.
This is coming after D’Banj allegedly made the police detained Seyitan for over 24 hours, in the process, intimidated her and made her delete all chats, social media posts, and other vital information from her phone.
