Fulham have agreed the protracted transfer of Aleksandre Mitrovic from Newcastle United in a deal worth up to £20million.
The Serbian striker impressed on loan at Craven Cottage during their push for promotion and is a key signing for Slavisa Jokanovic having scored 12 goals in 20 games last season.
Jokanovic has been keen to sign Mitrovic on a permanent basis all summer and looks to have finally got his man after the two clubs came to an agreement on Friday. Mitrovic’s impending exit will pave the way for a new striker to come in at Newcastle with Rafa Benitez weighing up several options.
Newcastle are pressing ahead with a proposed loan swap for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon with Dwight Gayle going the other way.
Rondon is extending his contract with Albion by a year and the clubs are discussing an option to make both loans permanent at the end of the season.
Fulham are in talks to sign Swansea’s Alfie Mawson and hold interest in Espanyol’s David Lopez and Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.
