Chelsea won for the first time since March 11 and ended their losing run under interim manager, Frank Lampard after beating Bournemouth
The match at the Vitality Stadium ended in a 3-1 win in favour of Chelsea.
Chelsea travelled to the south coast in danger of equalling an unwanted club record of seven consecutive defeats in all competitions having lost all six games since Lampard took charge at the beginning of April.
Goals from Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix ensured that scenario did not materialise as the visitors earned a morale-boosting victory.
Bournemouth, who had won six of their previous nine Premier League matches, had threatened to complete a comeback after Matias Vina’s 21st-minute strike cancelled out Conor Gallagher’s early header.
Badiashile first goal restored Chelsea’s lead to punish the host for their missed chances before Felix put the result beyond doubt.
The win confirms Chelsea will be playing in the Premier League next season after getting the required points and securing the 11th position.
