Despite the fact that 2020 has been a year full of trials and tribulations, music is one of the very few things that kept us entertained during this period.
It has been quite a while we last heard from the Omo baba olowo himself, Davido, and he finally released a song for his haters, FEM. FEM, is a Yoruba word for shut up, a song meant to silence his haters.
The song apparently marks the return of Davido since his absence from social media. The song FEM is a diss track, and so many speculations about the fact that he also happened to diss Odogwu himself, Burna boy.
The song as usual is catchy, but when I first heard the song, I didn’t not see what the hype was all about. I honestly do not still see what the hype is all about, but that instance where you listen to a song, you don’t like it at first, but when you listen to it repeatedly, it gets stuck in your head, and then you go back and listen to it, but it is still not it.
FEM is not as fire as everyone claims it to be, but it is definitely catchy, especially the chorus, but then in the absence of the chorus, the song is just not it for me.
I have been seeing some people, comparing the song, FEM, to Burna Boy’s Way Too Big, I just feel like FEM can not just be compared to Way Too Big, as that song is beautiful masterclass and FEM cannot be compared.
