His release of his 11th studio album caught everyone unaware. On the 17th of January 2020, Eminem dropped his 11th studio album titled MUSIC TO BE MURDERED BY, released by Aftermath Entertainment, Interscope Records, and Shady Records with no prior announcement, just like the release of his previous album Kamikaze which also caught everyone by surprise.
The fact that the album was released without previous announcements didn’t stop it from debuting at no. 1 on Billboard top 200 or other charts across the world, as Eminem became the 1st artiste to have 10 consecutive albums debuting at no. 1 on the US charts.
The album produced by Eminem, Dr. Dre and others happened to feature Alfred Hitchcock and Jeff Alexander’s album MUSIC TO BE MURDERED BY, released in 1958 as Eminem’s album cover also seemed to have the same graphics as that of Alfred Hitchcock’s. And on Eminem’s social media account, he happened to tag Alfred Hitchcock in one of his posts, thanking him upon the release of the album.
This album containing 64:22 minutes of songs had the voice of Alfred Hitchcock on the Alfred(outro) and the Alfred (interlude).
Eminem dedicated this album to Juice Wrld who happened to have died earlier this year as a result of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 21, and the song on which he was featured by Eminem GODZILLA was his first post-mortem song to be released, and it happens to be most people’s favorite track on the album. With songs like Unaccommodating, Godzilla, Leaving heaven, Lock it up, Those kind of nights, No regrets, just to mention a few, happens to feature artists like Young MA, Juice Wrld, Skylar Grey, Anderson .Paak, Ed Sheeran, and Don Toliver respectively.
Those are not the whole collaborations on the song though, but trust me when I say the album is the best I have heard this year, as there were so many criticisms about the album and it’s lyrical contents but trust me when I say Eminem sure knows how to reply his haters, on the first track of the album PREMONITION, he talkes about all the criticism his previous albums have faced and the likes.
Personally for me, this album is worth the hype as we all waited since the release of kamikaze album just for this, and it was worth the wait. My favourite tracks on the album are DARKNESS, GODZILLA, LITTLE ENGINE, LEAVING HEAVEN, STEP DAD, LOCK IT UP and FAREWELL, with over 60,000 Silver UK sales, this album is definitely worth the wait. And if you have not still heard the album by now, I would advice you go and download the complete album because it is fire!
