Deposition Affirms President Tinubu Forged Certificate He Tendered To INEC

A Registrar of Chicago State University, Caleb Westberg, on Tuesday, swore under oath that President Bola Tinubu forged his CSU 1979 certificate.

His testimonies were contained in a deposition made in the Office of Angela Liu, the legal counsel to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in Chicago, United States.

Liu has five lawyers from her firm who joined the legal proceedings on Zoom while the CSU was represented by Michael Hayes.

Tinubu, on the other hand, was represented by counsel Victor P. Henderson and Oluwole Afolabi.

When asked to verify the certificate tendered by Tinubu to INEC, Westberg said the certificate was not issued by Chicago State University because:

The certificate has a signature of the President of Board of Trustees on it, but the school did not have Board of Trustees as at 1979.
The President of CSU, Elenora Daniel has a signature on the certificate as at 1979, which is not possible as she was only the President of the University from 1998 to 2008.
The other signature on the certificate was from Dean, Herbert Colney who was also not Dean as at 1979.

Continuing with his testimony, Westberg told the court the institution was inundated with five to 30 enquiries daily by people who desperately wanted to confirm if the president truly attended the varsity.

He also denied that the alma mater notified the former governor of Lagos about any of the requests.

He deposed, “We believe Bola Tinubu who attended CSU is the same person who is the president of Nigeria today. Tinubu is an unusual name in the US. He matched the records in the file against the information provided by the student or on behalf of the student.

“I have the diploma that was made available to Mr. Enahoro-Ebah in our possession because Mr. Tinubu did not pick it up. I do not have the Diploma that was submitted to INEC and i can not authenticate it.”

When probed further to confirm if the Tinubu that enrolled at the school was a male or female, the registrar insisted, “Aside the transcript produced, there is no other way to prove whether the Bola Tinubu in question is a male or female.”

Hence, the gender of the Bola Tinubu who attended Chicago State University is unverified and cannot be ascertained as of the time of the deposition.
