It is no doubt that this year has been a year filled with various movie releases, which is as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic that happened last year.
We have seen movies like the Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, Tomorrow war, Fast and Furious 9, Cruella and many others. And the latest to have been released is Suicide Squad 2.
The Suicide Squad 2 is a 2021 American superhero film based on DC comics, featuring the team Suicide Squad.
The movie is a standalone sequel to the first Suicide Squad that was released back in 2016.
The movie stars a lot of big names in the acting industry, such as Idris Elba, John Cena, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davies, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Michael Rooker, Pete Davidson, Peter Capaldi and many others.
The graphics and cinematography of the movie are very good, but I feel like that is the only thing that the movie had over the first franchise released back in 2016.
No doubt, the movie is very interesting to watch, but when it is compared to the first Suicide Squad, the movie just seems average.
The action was good, with little comic relief here and there, but I just feel like, the story was half baked.
Most people are saying that the sequel is better than the first and also the Suicide Squad 2 is one of the best DC movies to have been released this year, but I am not just seeing what was over the top about the movie.
No doubt, the director did a great job with the action, as he went all in. But I feel like the story was missing something as if the actors didn’t have any iota of emotion in them. Which was what the first instalment had.
For me, I would pick the first instalment over its sequel anytime, because even then, Harley Quinn had a better role.
The movie talks about a task force of convicts, known as the Suicide Squad who are sent to the island nation of Carto Maltese to destroy evidence of the giant alien starfish, Starro the Conqueror.
With a budget of $185 million, the movie grossed $118 million. And there are talks about a spin-off, titled Peacemaker starring John Cena.
