The Fifty Shades films are well-known for their erotic moments, and copious amounts of nudity.
But Johnson has now revealed that she’s not, in fact, fully nude during the many steamy moments on screen – which seems fair, given the “wee pouch” co-star Jamie Dornan is known to have worn.
In a new chat with Marie Claire, Johnson explained that she had to stick a strapless thong to herself.
“It’s super not glamorous—it’s really unsexy,” she said.
“It’s not glue, but it’s sticky. They’re, like, basically if it were a nipple pastie, but underwear.
“But it’s only sticky at the top, it’s not sticky the whole way.”
Awkwardly, the stickiness wasn’t totally effective, she added.
“It would also come off because the adhesive would wear out, so then they would superglue it to my body so that it wouldn’t fall off,” the star went on.
“And I would wear two of them. It’s not painful, I mean, it’s barely anything. But I guess you have some sense of being covered. It’s f**king bizarre.”
Fifty Shades Freed received unanimously diabolical reviews from critics, but performed reasonably well at the box office in its opening weekend.
Both Dornan and Johnson have ruled out filming more instalments in the lucrative series.
