Robinho has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of sexual assault.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the former Manchester City man is one of a group of five which were found guilty of sexually assaulting an Albanian girl in a Milan night club on January 22, 2013.
Robinho was playing for AC Milan at the time. The Brazilian, now 33, is currently playing in his homeland with Atletico Mineiro.
Under Italian law he won’t be sent to prison until the appeals process has been finalised – which could take years.
If he loses the appeal he would could be extradited to serve prison time in Italy.
