I know what you are thinking, why should I watch Marvel’s Morbius following the bad reviews on Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes?
Most times, what kills a movie is not its plot or storyline; it is mostly the reviews that such a movie gets. We see several movies get so much hype, but the film ends up being below par or not worth the watch; meanwhile, we also have the category of those who write off a movie. Meanwhile, the movie is actually great.
At the end of the day, a person’s review of a film is their view, and it should not be used to judge whether you should see a movie or you should write the movie off.
Before watching Morbius, I didn’t check the reviews, and I just entered the cinema with the mindset of enjoying a movie that I had not observed before. And it quite surprised me when I heard a friend say that most of the reviews he saw online about the movie were critical reviews, and that’s why he has been skeptical about watching the movie.
And this movie that I just watched quite surprised me because I laughed and I was captivated. So how did people have critical reviews on the movie? The action was top-notch. The storyline was good enough, even better than most of the movies that got released during the pandemic.
The visual quality was outstanding. The movie also had a bit of comic relief here and there, accompanied by suspense. So why was I seeing 16% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes? The movie had some questionable scenes, but it is a developing character in the Marvel Universe.
