Cardi B definitely doesn’t seem too pressed about her court appearance. Dressed in an all-pink ensemble, the ‘Press’ rapper strutted her way into the Queens Criminal Court in New York City on Friday.
She was three hours late for the scheduled appearance. Prior to her arrival to court, the rapper posted a video with her new song on Instagram and appeared unbothered.
‘My face got maaaa fat, she said in the post caption. ‘Anyways PRESS PRESS PRESS.’
During her court appearance, however, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper did not speak. She is scheduled to appear back in court on August 9.
Prosecutors have also said that they would like to present the case to a grand jury. The conditions of her parole were continued, including an order of protection for the complainants.
Fans followed Cardi B out of the courtroom on Friday, trying to get photos. She hugged a woman who appeared to be an acquaintance but did not speak to anyone else.
The entertainer wore a pink pantsuit and sparkling pink fingernails to Friday’s hearing. Her jet-black tresses flowed effortlessly down to her waist.
She accessorized with fierce hot-pink stilettos and a taupe-colored alligator-skinned Chanel bag. Cardi B – whose birth name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar – decided not to plead guilty to misdemeanor assault to the third degree in connection to claims that she ordered the attack of two bartenders at a New York strip club.
Cardi would not have had to do any jail time by accepting the deal. The case would have also been completely dismissed if she had met certain conditions, The Blast reports.
Cardi faces a misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment and assault for the August 2018 incident at the Angel’s Strip Club in Queens.
Sisters Baddie Gi and Jade, who work as bartenders at the strip club, claimed the rapper ordered an attack on the women because she believed one of them had an affair with her husband Offset.
The sisters alleged that a member of Cardi B’s entourage threw bottles, chairs, and hookahs in the club at them.
Cardi was allegedly caught on camera tossing an ice bucket at the women. The songstress surrendered to police in October.
